About China Travel How
China Travel How is an independent, English-language guide for people visiting mainland China. We focus on the practical problems first-time visitors run into: working out whether you need a visa, paying with Alipay or WeChat Pay on a foreign card, getting online, and booking trains.
How we write our guides
- Official sources first. Entry rules come from China's National Immigration Administration, embassies and government notices; payment and booking details come from the providers' own help pages.
- Every guide is dated. Each article shows when it was last checked and lists the sources it relies on.
- We update. Policies in China change quickly. When a rule changes we revise the article and its date.
- No guesswork. If we can't verify something, we say so rather than fill the gap.
Independence and advertising
We are not affiliated with any government, airline, rail operator or payment company. The site may show ads and, in future, may include affiliate links (for example to hotel or eSIM providers). If we earn a commission from a link we will label it clearly, and it never changes what we recommend.
